"Go Around Already!"

Lessons Learned?

We can only hope!

My girlfriend sent me the video below. She said, "This video has over 20 clips of near misses, bad landings (really bad), and other things you don't want to do in an airplane. Includes commercial, military, and GA aircraft. I just don't get why pilots don't want to go around!"

Today I'm flying from Amsterdam to Seattle~there is no place like home!

Enjoy the Journey...

  2. On the other hand, did you see the viral video of 767 going around in Spain?

    2. I meant the UTair UT5187 in Barcelona. Video went viral, so I presumed you heard about it. Apparently there was a certain confusion about an Argentinian A340 being cleared to cross the runway on which the 767 was already cleared to land. Russian captain misheard the other clearance and expected the Airbus to hold short. When it crossed the runway, he initiated a go-around.

    3. Wow... that was close. But that happens.... all about human factors. We kind of hear what we want to hear. Thank you for telling me about this!
